Licensed Veterinary Technician
Lena was born and raised in Northeast Pennsylvania and moved to New York in 2011. She had obtained a bachelor's in sociology/criminology but knew she wanted to work with animals after adopting, and falling in love with, her first dog, Ben. Moving to NY gave her the ability to create a fresh start and she became a kennel attendant in an animal hospital. She then began pursuing a degree in veterinary technology through Penn Foster. While she attended school she worked as a kennel attendant, veterinary assistant and then board eligible technician. She took the VTNE in 2018 and became a licensed technician after 7 years in the field. She enjoys travel, hiking, cross-stitch, reading and newly, birdwatching. She shares her home with her boyfriend, dog and 4 cats. What she loves most about veterinary medicine (aside from helping animals) is the opportunity to really learn something new every day.
