In Hospital Services

The following are just some of the services we perform at the Brunswick Veterinary Hospital:

Appointments

Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.

Emergencies

Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

Preventative physical exams and wellness / preventative care

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in a wellness program has rewards for both pets and owners. Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite (fecal) testing and deworming; heartworm and tick testing, FeLV/FIV testing, heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages. We also microchip, clean ears, express anal glands, and do nail trimming if needed.

Nutritional/weight management

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.

Pain management

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.

Health Certificates

Our doctors are certified to issue both interstate and international health certificates.

Surgery - Orthopedic, Soft Tissue, Spaying, Neutering

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet.  Our surgical procedures range from elective spays and neuters to advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Surgical services and facilities include: a board certified surgeon whom is available for consultation and surgery; fully trained veterinary and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing as needed.  Please click on the Clinic Tour link to see pictures of our surgery and medical procedure rooms.

Dentistry

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line along with full mouth readiographs which better help us diagnosis diseased teeth. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface which is more resistant to plaque buildup.

Hospice/Euthanasia Services

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.  We also offer cremation services and the a clay paws paw imprint keepsake as a memorial to your pet.

Laboratory diagnostics

We offer in house diagnostic procedures including blood work, urinalysis, digital radiography, and ultrasonography.  We also provide cytology, histopathology, cultures and other more specialized testing through our outside laboratory.

Digital Radiology and Ultrasound

Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. We also have a board certified radiologist available to perform abdominal ultrasounds and ultrasound guided biopsies as necessary.

Pharmacy Services

We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field including heartworm and flea / tick prevention, prescription foods and medications. We also offer an online pharmacy where you can have the convenience of having products shipped right to your door.

Through the American Veterinary Medical Foundation’s Veterinary Care Charitable Fund, our hospital is able to help animals rescued from abuse and neglect and the pets of clients facing personal hardships. Your donations to the AVMF on behalf of our hospital will help us help animals. Click on the AVMF donate button to make your tax deductible donation.
