Tara Manzer, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Tara is our head technician at the hospital. She is a native of the Capital District and graduated from SUNY Delhi with her Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology. Tara has over 25 years of experience as a veterinary technician! With client communication as a top priority, she enjoys meeting new pets and their families, and takes great pride in making sure they are on the right path to a long and healthy life.

Tara resides in Mechanicville with her husband Joe and their two amazing children, Grace and Joey. She has two crazy labs, Remington and Ben, along with two cats, Zak and Cody, and a hedgehog, of course, named Sonic. When Tara is not at work you can find her playing soccer or softball, or in the flower garden, but she especially likes to be on the sideline cheering on one of her kids!

Jen Miano, Veterinary Assistant

Jen has always wanted to work with dogs and cats and after a detour through the art/design field, she is living her dream! Currently working on her NYS Veterinary Technician's license, she hopes to be a fully accredited LVT this Spring. While living in North Carolina about seven years ago, Jen was inspired by a friend and vet tech to make a career change and now continues to be inspired and guided by her dedicated friends at Brunswick Veterinary Hospital.

Her special interest is in the field of geriatric care for our dogs and cats, of which she always has at least one! Her interests, aside from helping care for our patients, include hiking, camping, and day trips. She loves to travel, visiting her friends and family all along the East coast. Her loyal and constant companion is a "mature" Lab/Golden mix named Violet - an unending source of laughs and hugs for everyone she meets!

Julie Urkevich, Receptionist

Julie is a graduate of The College of Saint Rose and had a successful career as a programmer analyst for many years. Julie and her husband Gary have raised their three daughters, Marissa, Rosie, and Michelle who are now attending college and pursing their careers. Julie is also very dedicated to rescuing dogs and is a long time member of Peppertree Rescue. Beginning as a foster home, Julie is now Shelter Intake Coordinator and member of the Intake Committee. She has spent many hours of her time transporting, evaluating, and fostering dogs for Peppertree. In fact, Dr. LaMora adopted one of the dogs Julie fostered, a senior golden retriever named Roni. Her love of animals and outgoing personality make her a perfect fit for Brunswick Veterinary Hospital.

Julie enjoys reading, crocheting, hiking, and spending time with her family. She also volunteers with Therapy Dog International, visiting nursing homes and day programs with her therapy dog Reilley.

Kalee Brierley, Part-Time Receptionist
Kalee is the nanny for Dr. LaMora’s son and spend most of the day caring for him however, you may see her helping out down at the front desk from time to time. Kalee grew up in both Cohoes and Lansingburgh. She graduated from Cohoes High School in 2014. She has been working with kids since she was old enough to have a job, and even enjoyed babysitting before that. Kalee worked at a daycare for 3-4 years and then moved up to school age children for a before & after school program which included a summer camp for the kids! Shortly after, she started working with New England Nanny's and was THRILLED to become a nanny for Dr. L’s son!

In her spare time, Kalee enjoys playing volleyball, cooking, camping, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. Kalee has two fur babies of her own; a Shih Tzu named Kobe and a cat named Shadow.

Cooper, Office Greeter

Cooper is our resident office cat. He came to us via Dr. LaMora, who found him at 8 weeks old nesting in her chicken coop at home (the chickens were NOT appreciative!). He can be found hanging out at the front desk greeting clients, eating, or lounging around in his pet bed next to Dr. LaMora's computer.

We strive to provide complete care for our patients. Learn more about all the services we provide.
